Description

Notice: sales have been suspended, as the 2020 Gourd Art Festival has been postponed until 2021 due to COVID orders.

There are so many ways to create luminaries. So many light sources.with each having a different effect. We will cover some of these in a discussion but will concentrate our work on an art piece that highlights the actual light as part of the artwork. A LED orb light will be the backdrop for silhouettes that focus on moon art. Each student will create a unique luminary with gourds, LED orb lights, stands (if necessary), patterns and art supplies all included. We will cover filigree cutting, carving, suitable patterns and transfer, application of color, shading and sealing in this class. Student must bring a carver, burrs (including filipoint) and mask to class.

Please note
This class is offered on Friday. Please be aware that there will not be food available on-site or nearby on this day. If you are not bringing your own lunch, it is recommended to purchase a sandwich as well, which will be delivered to you.
